GALLERY EXHIBITIONBui Chat
WELCOME TO 2026: AN EXCITING SEASON OF ART THAT REVOLTS AGAINST.
Bảy Tám Năm is a solo exhibition by Bùi Chát at CON ART Gallery (4–28 Feb 2026), inaugurating the Gallery’s 2026 programme. The project places painting under a deadline: using a special solvent mixed into pigment, each work is programmed to fade over time and return to a white canvas after seven to eight years. Suspended between beauty and disappearance, the exhibition invites viewers to remain with the moment—an ethics of courage in which value lies not in permanent possession, but in the act of seeing and remembering.

In each of Bùi Chát’s works, as the colours gradually fade, what remains is not an empty surface but the viewer’s memory. The artwork leaves the exhibition space to continue living inside each person. Everyone carries a different version of it—impossible to copy, impossible to fully possess. In this way, Bùi Chát shifts artistic value from object to experience, from ownership to remembrance. Painting steps outside the market’s logic of accumulation and returns to the fragile essence of aesthetic feeling.
